Calling all String players!
2022 Summer Strings is starting on Monday, April 4th. We have a fun String summer planned for all orchestral string players who can read music.
We will be rehearsing at the Pinellas Park Performing Arts Center, 4951 78th Ave N, Pinellas Park, FL 33781, on Mondays from 7-9 PM.
Dr. Art Hansuld, Pinellas Park Civic Orchestra Conductor Emeritus, will conduct the group for April and May. The Summer Strings will give a concert at 7:30 pm on Monday July 25, 2022. There is no charge for this concert but a $10 donation is suggested. We will play small ensemble music and have fun making music together in a relaxed environment.
Then, music specialist, Dana McCarthy, DMA, will work with the group in June and July on further developing our string skills and ensemble performance.
There is no cost for the program. Bring your instrument and music stand. Face masks are requested for those that are not yet fully vaccinated. Music will be provided electronically and you will be responsible for printing it and bringing it with you to rehearsals. There will be one set of music for each part available for loan during rehearsals.
Contact me (Sue Dauterman, firstname.lastname@example.org) and let me know that you are coming and I will send you the link to the music for the first fun summer session.
Music for the July 25th concert includes:
Beethoven Symphony No 1 in C Major
Boccherini Cello Concerto in D Major featuring soloist George Alexander
Dvorak Serenade for Strings
Haydn Symphony No. 49 'La Passione'
Schumann Symphony No 1 in Bb Major
